Blossom
I went to Lowe’s today to pick up some supplies for my garden. I found myself strolling through the garden center surrounded by life literally blooming all around me. I ran my fingers through some lavender and smelled my hand. Bless. I did the same with rosemary. Yum. God is so good to give us so much variety in our lives! I felt like every one of my senses were fully engaged and I could have stayed there for hours.
The colors all around me were so bright and vibrant, I felt like I was looking at flower perfection. The weather was warm and the sun was shining bright. I wandered for a bit then took out my phone and snapped some pictures to share with you. (See below)
As I was preparing to write today’s post, I looked up the definition of the word blossom. We all know what the word means regarding flowers, but I was curious to see if there were any other definitions. And of course there were. Another definition of blossom according to Webster Dictionary is “to come into one’s own” and “to become evident.”
If we want to see if our lives have blossomed in the Lord, our lives must “become evident of” exactly that. Our words, actions, attitude and way of life both in public and behind closed doors should be evident of our choice to live for the Lord. We will not reach perfection on this side of eternity but I believe we are meant to blossom- each in our own way while on this earth.
I love the scripture in Matthew 6:28-30 where Jesus says, “And why do you worry about clothes? See how the flowers of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you - you of little faith?”
There are many lessons in this passage. But did you catch the goodie in it? “God clothes the grass of the field.” That thought makes me feel snuggled into the Lord. Friend, our Heavenly Father doesn’t offer a personal relationship to the flowers but he clothes them in beauty. How much more so will he bless you when you choose to join Him in relationship, love him back or even dare to put him first?
These flowers in all their vibrant color, aroma and beauty won’t even be close to what he has in store for you! My prayer is that you feel the love of the Lord wash over you today. My prayer is that you will know and understand just how special, lovely, bright and vibrant you are to Him. My prayer is that you will embrace him today and thank him for his goodness and grace. Until next time… Stay encouraged!
