Praying Scripture

Revelation 4:8-11 - "Each of the four living creatures had six wings and was covered with eyes all around, even under its wings. Day and night they never stop saying: 'Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God Almighty, who was, and is, and is to come.' Whenever the living creatures give glory, honor and thanks to him who sits on the throne and who lives for ever and ever, the twenty-four elders fall down before him who sits on the throne and worship him who lives for ever and ever. They lay their crowns before the throne and say: 'You are worthy, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honor and power, for you created all things, and by your will they were created and have their being.'"

I used to think of Revelation as a scary book of the Bible when I was younger. Thankfully, I don't see it that way anymore. I especially love this particular scripture in Revelation. I encourage you to read the previous 7 verses because they give a vivid, beautiful picture of the Throne in Heaven, as described by John.

The four living creatures worshiped, giving glory, honor and thanks to the Lord day and night. They literally NEVER stop saying: "Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God Almighty, who was and is and is to come." And then the twenty four elders fall down and worship saying: "You are worthy, our Lord and God to receive glory and honor and power, for you created all things, and by your will they were created and have their being."

Have you ever wondered if your prayers honor God and bring him glory enough? Sometimes I feel like my emotions are in the right place but my words fall short. It's like trying to put into words how much you love your new born baby. There aren't the words available in my opinion to touch the power of the emotion behind it.

I know that God looks at our hearts when we pray and worship Him, so he knows how we feel even if we can't quite find the perfect words. But when I pray the words in this scripture, I know that I am aligning myself with those that worship Him in heaven and it just feels so right. I actually feel privileged and honored that we have been given a glimpse into how God is worshiped in heaven. I step out in faith that our Father finds this worthy and acceptable worship when I do it too. Give it a try. I pray that you feel a special connection with your Father and that He blesses you abundantly. Stay encouraged.
