Do you believe in miracles?
Can you imagine what your reaction would have been if you were around when Jesus was on Earth and actually got to see with your own eyes him heal a person with leprosy, or a blind man, or pull a demon out of someone, or even raise someone from the dead? Jesus performed miracles! (Matthew Chapter 8, 9, 14, 15)
He displayed his power not by striking people down but by saving them and restoring them! The apostles were given the power to perform these miracles too. (Acts 19:11-12, Mark 16:17-20) There were countless eye witnesses to these miracles performed.
What would your reaction have been? I am quite positive that nothing in the world would ever be able to shake your faith for even a moment after seeing something like that! You may have gasped and covered your mouth, or shouted out in awe and wonder. Maybe you would have fallen to the ground and began to cry with joy as to what you just saw. Either way, you surely would have known for a fact that you were in the presence of something beautiful. Something… Heavenly.
Well, there are multiple accounts in the Bible of those miracles happening. The fact that we personally did not see it, does not take away from the grandeur, awe and magnificence of what happened. Miracles happened and are still happening today. There are movies, books and reports of miracles happening. There are eye witnesses and no logical reasoning for these miracles. I recently saw the movie, Breakthrough and if that wasn’t a miracle, I don’t know what is. I HIGHLY recommend this movie. Guess what??? God is still moving and active on the Earth today. I take such comfort in that fact. We have not been abandoned. We are not alone.
Think back throughout your life. Are there any moments that you experienced something that had no reasonable explanation, but you just chalked it up to “coincidence?” Or, were you ever in a terrible situation and something happened completely out of the blue and out of your control that changed the tides and got you out? I have! At the time I didn’t recognize it for what it was, but looking back years ago, I am convinced that even though my bad choices put me in a terrible situation, God intervened. And the fact that I am still here today is truly nothing short of a miracle. And since then, I have been more aware and have seen God move in my life many times and have been blessed enough to know that it was Him!
I think each and every one of us, has experienced God at one point or possibly many times in our lives. I believe that experiencing Him on any level IS a miracle! Whether it is asking for an answer to a question and then something out of the blue gives you a specific answer just moments later, or someone having a medical emergency and everyone gathering to pray and they come out of it completely unscathed. Miracles are happening all around us. We just need to stop and see and give credit where credit is due. Feel blessed because you are blessed! Express gratitude to God for the miracles we see AND the ones we may not. He is constantly working behind the scenes on our behalf- all we need to do is embrace Him. Thank Him. Love Him. Because He wants ONLY the best for you now and always.
