Reckless love of God
One of my favorite songs is by Cory Asbury and is called “Reckless Love.” (I've attached it for you to listen too if you'd like). Music is my lifeline, so you may hear me talk about music pretty often. But this song in particular, will stir your very soul. The first time I heard this song, I remember thinking…reckless? Is that how we want to describe any part of God? But I understood the use of the word better when I really listened to the words. One part of the song says:

I couldn’t earn it, and I don’t deserve it, still, You give Yourself away

The whole song is just SO powerful. It makes me think about my role as a mother. Although my boys are grown and moved out, from the time they were in my belly until now that they are all grown men, and for as long as I live, I would do ANYTHING for my children. I’ve been told that it’s kind of strange that I answer my phone no matter what when I see my kids calling. In the movies, I get up and answer. In church, I get up and answer. Don’t worry, my phone is on silent, but my Apple watch vibrates lol. Middle of the night, I totally answer. Some may think I need boundaries with that, but I feel that my kids know that no matter what, day or night, I am here for them! My mother has always been the same way and it gives me a certain sense of peace that I know for a fact she will always pick up for me.
How much more so is our Heavenly Father there for us! Day or night. Rain or shine. When we are good and when we are not. He is there. Reckless? I say YES! His love is reckless because he will leave the 99 for YOU which doesn’t seem reasonable, but His perfect love means it is! Do you know why? Because you, my dear are worth it to God. You… beautiful you…are loved and wanted by your Father.
And even though I will do anything for my children, as a human being I am quite limited. I cannot physically do everything, and I cannot solve every problem or situate circumstances the way God can and will for us! How exciting it is to think about the lengths He will go to for us. Just show up. Talk to Him. Let Him be a part of your everyday. Watch the reckless love of God unfold in your life!
